This is a photo of my Grandfather (mother's side),
George Dryland holding a 250 pound German bomb, in London, during WWII. It has been defused. The bomb fell into his backyard and he dug it up with the fuse still in it before the bomb squad got there!!! They were very upset with him over that but are in a light hearted mood when the picture was taken. (Bomb disposal work was usually very grim). |
