Here's where the steel trestle
bridge will be placed.

(The stakes mark the location
of  the bridge
).




 


One of twenty all steel bents.

(It is made up from old shelving
rack.You can see the slots for
shelving along the top. The ends
are plugged with wood.   Note
the steel foot pads to give
support on the gravel
foundation). 





All the bents just painted.

(The bents varied in size from
17" to 20" high.
  All the steel
for the bridge was scrounged
up for free).
  
 






 




The bridge construction begins.

(The stringers on top that connect the
bents are made of folded steel metal
T stock, 2" wide.  They were also
scrounged at the same time as the
steel for the bents
). 




The first few bents of the bridge in place.

(The bents are set in the ground about 6" deep.
The base foundation is 6" of  #2 chat which is
 wetted and pounded flat and level
).
